In the Deep

Thought you had all the answers
to rest your heart upon
but something happens
don't see it coming,
now you can't stop yourself
now you're out there swimming
in the deep
Life keeps tumbling
your heart in circles
till you let go
till you shed your pride
and you climb to heaven
and you throw yourself off
now you're out there
spinning in the deep

words: bird york music: bird york and michael becker

eh? someone's losing touch with their poetic side.

that was meant in (semi) jest btw..

Um... I actually didn't write that. That's why on the bottom I gave credit to Bird York. It's the soundtrack for the movie "Crash."

That was meant in (no) jest.

my bad. i had to stop reading after the second line to keep myself from barfing all over the place.

Yes, I can see how that would be. I mean, who would want to read the lyrics of a singer who sung at this year's Oscars and made the soundtrack of an award-winning film?

most people around here were disappointed that it won an oscar :)

and c'mon, you KNOW the lyrics really aren't all that.

Of course racist Southerners would be disappointed. I happen to like the lyrics which is why I bothered to put them on my blog. Let's just agree to disagree.

i never saw an issue of (dis)agreement, hm?
i suppose next time i'll bold the jest bit
